In Maputo I took a minibus that was supposed to bring me to the South African border at Ressano Garcia but it broke down and I had to hitch hike to Nelspruit where I got a "black taxi" to Hazyview, a good jumping off place for Kruger Park.
I stayed at the Kruger Park Backpacker's Hostel where I had this fine native hut all to myself for only 7.00 US$ a night! I met other backpackers there and we made arrangements for a safari with the owner "Bokkie".
We did our own shopping and had the use of this communal kitchen. There was also a bar with Braai fireplace which we put to good use. It was really great.
Here, the Swedish Sture Nystrom and I are getting ready to go on a one day safari (6AM to 4PM for 60 US$ each), with two german girls accompanied by Bokkie and his wife.

Another male Impala.
An old tusker.
The same one coming our way.
One of the tall ones feeding on the trees.
Below, two more long necks.
A frightened Zebra.
Warthogs are ugly but I think that hyenas are uglier.
This is the dining room of Camp Satona where we stopped for lunch. We were all satisfied, we had covered a lot of ground, had a good lunch and had seen a lot of wildlife. We had even seen a lion mating endlessly. That's the way they do it, they mate, rest a few minutes, mate again and so on for hours! We could see the action pretty well in the high grass but they were too far to photograph.
