France, the land of my ancestor Zacharie Cloutier who, born in Mortagne in 1590, sailed from Saint Malo in 1635 when he was already 45 years old, to set up shop as carpenter in Chateau Richer not far from Quebec City, exerts a nostalgic attraction even though my values are definitely North American and not European. I know because I have lived eight years in Paris. I love to spend a few days in Paris when I get a chance but I take few photos because I already have heaps. |

In my time courting used to be on the banks of the Seine it was romantic and discreet. Now it's everywhere, even in the courtyard of the modern "Les Halles" complex... Why not!
Paris is full of small parks that surprise you at the turn of a street corner like this charming "Georges Brassens" park in the 14th arrondissement.

Canada is a nice place to get back to after an extended trip. Of course we have our problems but who doesn't? |

It's nice to be back home after an interesting voyage, especially if you have four delightful sisters to greet you as I do! From left to right, Andrée, Suzanne, Monique and Claire.
