I got back to Montreal from South America in the spring. I was not writing travelogues at that time so I got restless again and decided to visit a friend in Moscow which I had not seen for 23 years! I would have liked to do the Trans Siberian from Khabarovsk to Moscow with her but she had been there already so, after staying in Moscow for a while, we agreed to take a river and canal cruise from Moscow to St Petersburg stopping in a number of historical places along the way.

I continue developing this site for the pleasure of sharing the joys of discovery with you. Meeting wonderful people of all skin colours, ethnic origins and beliefs has inspired me to set up the Humanist Foundation of Quebec to promote critical thinking and intercultural tolerance.
