This was just a short stop to visit colleagues I had known in Paris who were now working here.
After crowded, dirty and mostly poor Manila, the mostly prosperous Singapore appeared to me as the opposite extreme of clinical cleanliness and rigid orderliness. I might sound overly critical in saying that but one has to be blind not to see the difference!

My business courtesy visits done I took an organised tour that included a show by these four dancers presented as Balinese but probably from southern India considering their dark skins.
Below left, snake charmers that dared their audience to approach their pets.
Below right, I figured that if they could handle these snakes, they must be inoffensive and I could do it too!
