On the day before
Four am.
Sunrise.
Crossing the glacier.
Below:left, some big crevasses, right, view just past the ice fall.
The last bit up to the summit is not difficult but we will be glad to take a rest for we have been on the move for almost eight hours.
Lunch on the summit with Mt Ayesha in the background on the left and the Mummery group further out on the right.
Mt Ayesha in the background. I'm glad to have a rest and it's a great feeling to be sitting up here just to look around.
Looking south towards Mt Hector in the middle and Mt. Olive at the extreme right.
Getting ready to climb down to Bow Lake in that dark valley below.
Below, first two, the easy stroll down will get more difficult when we reach the icefall.
Further down, left, going around the biggest crevasses - right, this ridge leads to a bit of rock to climb down to the lake.
The end of a perfect day around six pm, 14 hours after starting..
