Here is a rough breakdown of my 2004 sunmmer budget followed by detailed transport costs and a list of the lodgings I used. In the summer of 2004 I travelled 7 550 kilometres to visit 3 countries in 24 days at a total cost of 4 800 US$. At 200 US$/day, this is the most expensive of all my trips so-far.

On this trip, I spent 11 nights in 7 different hotels at an overall average cost of 32.27 $US (not counting the night in Ottawa and the 10 nights on the M/V Orlova included in the cruise nor the 2 nights on the M/V Nordik from Blanc Sablon to Natashquan). Here is a list of these hotels. I hope you will find it useful if you plan to visit some of these places. I have tried to give you an idea of what to expect of each place in terms of value for your money. An equal sign means an average value for a given price compared to other lodgings in the same country. A " + " sign means more value for your money than the average in that country and a " - " sign means less. |
